Kate Middleton and Prince William will be affected by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s selfish decision of quitting their royal roles.

Last week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shocked the palace and the world when they announced that they were stepping back from their royal duties. According to a source, there is a “genuine worry” over Prince Harry and Markle’s exit and how it could impact the royal family, which is expected to directly affect the Cambridges.

“Harry and Meghan deciding to up sticks and leave without any thought about how it could affect them is pretty selfish,” a source told The Mirror.

“If the Sussexes are only here half the year then it will fall to William and Kate to pick up the slack with more engagements, more pressure, and that has not even been considered.”

Queen Elizabeth II was reportedly furious and disappointed at the Sussexes’ decision. Her Majesty was also not pleased because they didn’t consult any senior members of the royal family before announcing their plans to the world. The members of the Firm have only learned about it when their announcement was reported on TV.

Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to leave their royal duties reportedly left the Duchess of Cambridge broken-hearted. Middleton already said that she wanted her kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to spend more time with their cousin Archie. However, this is unlikely to happen given the speculations that the Sussexes are planning to move to Canada.

In fact, days after Prince Harry and Markle’s announcement, the latter immediately flew back to Canada to reunite with their son Archie whom they left in the country. Also, the former “Suits” star reportedly dropped a major clue that she’s not returning to the U.K. when she moved her pet dogs to Vancouver.

Meanwhile, Markle may never receive the same honor that Queen Elizabeth II bestowed to Middleton on her and Prince William’s eighth wedding anniversary. According to one expert, it will take longer for Markle to be given the Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order. And now that she and Prince Harry are moving away from their royal roles, this might not happen anymore.
