Celebrities took to social media Sunday to share messages to and photographs of their mothers as a tribute to them. Some also wished their wives, sisters and daughters on the occasion of Mother's Day.

From former President Barack Obama wishing his wife Michelle to singer Cher, everybody seemed to post their wishes for their mothers on social media. Here's a list of eight famous people who tweeted or posted their Mother's Day wishes on social media.

1. Barron Trump and Melania Trump

First lady Melania Trump tweeted a photo of son Barron pointing a camera at her. Melania has been beside her son even after her husband, Donald Trump, became the president and shifted to the White House. While the president lives in Washington, D.C., his wife and their 11-year-old son have stayed in New York City so that Barron can finish his school year.

Melania and Barron will officially move into the White House this summer, following the end of the school year, a senior White House official told Fox News last month.

2. Cher and Georgia Holt

In March, 70-year-old singer and actress, Cher, dropped out of an upcoming Lifetime movie due to a "serious family issue," though a source told ET Online that the icon was in good health. It was because Cher's mother Georgia Holt, who is now in her 90s, was in a "fragile" state.

In a statement to ET, Cher said she dropped out of the movie, which was based on the 2016 water crisis in Flint, Michigan, because she was "unable to leave Los Angeles."

"This has been a project so near and dear to my heart and I was truly looking forward to helping tell this story," she shared. "Unfortunately, I will be unable to leave Los Angeles during the scheduled filming as I am dealing with a serious family issue that prevents me from going on location for the April filming."

Cher wished her mother on Twitter saying that it was she who made the singer realize the importance of being "different," which meant "special."

3. John Legend, Chrissy Teigen and Luna

Musician and actor John Legend wished his wife Chrissy Teigen with an adorable post on Instagram. The “All of Me” singer shared a photo of Teigen with the couple’s daughter, Luna, who turned one in April.

His Darkness and Light Tour kicked off Saturday, and before heading for it, he shared some family time as he and Teigen took Luna to Seaquarium in Miami on Friday.

4. Nicki Minaj and Carol Maraj

The "Bang Bang" singer posted a picture of her look-alike mother, Carol Maraj, on Instagram. In an interview with Essence in 2015, Carol spoke about how she recognized her daughter's talent when she was a teenager. Carol knew Nicki had a gift when she used to freestyle, make up her own words, and do all of that in just a short span of time. Carol said she supported her daughter in everything she did.

5. Barack, Michelle Obama and Marian Shields Robinson

The former president took to Twitter and wished his wife "Happy Mother's Day." Michelle also posted a picture with her mother Marian Shields Robinson.

In January, Michelle Obama appeared on the "The Tonight Show" where she thanked her mother for her success as the first lady, and for helping with raising Sasha and Malia, as well as for being her role model.

6. Katie Holmes and Suri

The actress celebrated Mother's Day by sharing photographs of herself and her daughter Suri on Sunday.

7. Reese Witherspoon, Ava, Deacon, and Tennessee

The "Legally Blonde" actress celebrated the day by posting a picture of her three kids — 17-year-old Ava, 13-year-old Deacon, and 4-year-old Tennessee — on Instagram.

The music superstar celebrated reconnecting with his mother and tweeted a photo with his mother, Sheila Eileen Dwight, along with the caption "So happy we are back in touch." The two hadn't spoken for years after falling out in 2008. They got back on speaking terms in 2016.
