Reese Witherspoon is reprising her “Legally Blonde” character Elle Woods, and she is getting an impressive payday for the threequel.

The “Big Little Lies” star will make $12 million for “Legally Blonde 3,” Radar Online reports.

The third installment was announced in June. Original scribes Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Karen McCullah were in talks to write the script, Deadline reported, while Mark Platt and Adam Siegel signed on to produce. Witherspoon will also be a producer this time with her Hello Sunshine company.

This will be Witherspoon’s first time playing the character since 2003’s critically-panned “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde.” It makes sense that she’d want to produce not only from a financial standpoint but also a creative one.

Witherspoon was already the fifth highest paid actress for 2018, according to Forbes. She made $16.5 million between June 1, 2017 and June 1, 2018. She could very well move up on the list next year. Along with “Legally Blonde 3,” the 42-year-old will earn an estimated $1.25 million per episode of her new Apple series with Jennifer Aniston.

In addition, Witherspoon has her media brand, Hello Sunshine, which is producing podcasts, TV shows, movies and her book club. In other words, Reese is making plenty of money from working off screen as well.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Witherspoon is worth $150 million.
