She may be the furthest down the line of succession compared to her cousins-in-law, but that doesn’t mean that no expense was spared when it came to Princess Eugenie’s nuptials to Jack Brooksbank.

The Princess, who is the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, wed her longtime beau on Friday in a grand ceremony at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, the same site where her cousin, Prince Harry, married Meghan Markle on May 19. Of course, while Eugenie may only be considered a part-time royal (unlike her counterparts), it doesn’t mean her wedding was a less grand affair than those that were put on for both Harry and his brother, Prince William.

So how do the weddings of the three most recent royal brides stack up against one another? Here’s a breakdown of the projected expenses for each.

Princess Eugenie And Jack Brooksbank: October 12, 2018

  • Dress: According to Harper’s Bazaar, it’s likely Princess Eugenie’s Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos gown with low back likely cost at least $135,000, but most likely didn’t go too high over that amount due to her place in line for the throne. According to royal protocol, the cost of a gown for a royal who has a lower position is supposed to be less than the one for someone who has a higher place.
  • Flowers: While there was more color in the floral arrangements at Princess Eugenie’s wedding (due to the time of year), it’s not expected that they topped the same $150,000 that was estimated to be spent for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s flowers.
  • Cake: The five-tier chocolate and red velvet cake likely rang in at an expensive price tag. The couple’s wedding saw 800 guests at the reception, which was 600 more than the 200 Prince Harry and Meghan Markle invited to theirs. Because there was a higher guest count and more cake as a result, it likely cost at least double—making it potentially $10,000.
  • Security: Like the weddings before her, Princess Eugenie’s security costs were paid by British taxpayers However, the amount spared for her affair was likely far less than the usual, with E! News topping it out at roughly £2 Million.
  • Total Cost: While it will be a while before all of the actual figures are released, the pair’s nuptials may have only hit roughly $3 million, which is a bargain by royal wedding standards.

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle: May 19, 2018

  • Dress: It’s been reported that Markle may have broken protocol with her dress, as the custom Givenchy by Clare Waight Keller gown reportedly cost $508,000.
  • Flowers: It’s believed the couples floral arrangements, which included the impress floral arches at the church and all florals at their reception, ran up a $150,000 price tag.
  • Cake: The couple’s lemon elderflower cake was expected to have cost at least $5,000 due to the attention to detail.
  • Invitations: It was estimated that the pair’s Barnard & Westwood invitations would ring in at $290,000.
  • Security: It’s believed that at least £30 million was spent on security for the lavish affair, which not only included royal guests but some Hollywood A-listers as well, like Oprah and George and Amal Clooney.
  • Total Cost: $42 Million (£32 Million) when all expenses are added up and considered.

Prince William And Kate Middleton: April 29, 2011

  • Hotel Rooms: This contribution, which was reportedly covered by the Duchess of Cambridge’s parents, is not exactly known, but included rooms for all family members who stayed at the Goring Hotel, where standard double rooms run at approximately $550 per night.
  • Dress: This cost is once again something that it’s believed Middleton’s parents covered, which was a hefty contribution to the affair. It’s been estimated that Middleton’s Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown rang in at $434,000.
  • Flowers: The floral arrangements for both their ceremony and reception are believed to have cost $800,000.
  • Cake: The pair’s two cakes—one was a chocolate biscuit cake while the other was an eight-tier traditional fruitcake—were a gift from Prince Charles, but still cost approximately $80,000.
  • Rings: It’s estimated that Princess Diana’s own engagement ring, which was given to Middleton, cost $60,000, and her traditional Welsh Gold wedding band is an estimated $11,000.
  • Security: $32 Million was reportedly expensed out in the security costs for the wedding, which isn’t surprising since Prince William is second in line for the throne.
  • Total Cost: $34 Million is universally considered to be the official cost of the pair’s wedding when all factors were added up and considered.
