Queen Elizabeth figured out a clever trick to make Prince Philip calm down whenever they would have heated arguments.

Royal correspondent James Whitaker wrote for the Daily Mirror that Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh are not a perfect married couple because just like everyone else, they would also get into massive fights.

One royal courtier previously told Whitaker that no one would believe what they are seeing whenever the two royals are having an argument. Words and phrases such as rubbish and “you don’t know what you’re talking about” are usually heard during heated encounters.

But the Queen eventually thought of a way to make her husband stop arguing with her. “The Queen’s technique is to talk in riddles to confuse his logical mind,” Whitaker said.

Meanwhile, other royal experts said that the Queen and Prince Philip’s arguments are actually made their marriage stronger. In the documentary “The Majestic Life of Queen Elizabeth II,” royal correspondent Hugo Vickers said that Her Majesty and the Duke are both very well matched.

“She took on somebody her own size. He is the one person who can categorically tell her if something is not going well… He can talk to her directly and he does,” he said.

Royal correspondent Camila Tominey added that the Queen would be the first to admit that her husband is not one to mince his words. Prince Philip is known for having an opinion about everything, and he also doesn’t mind expressing them.

But for the Queen, to have someone by her side who tells her what he thinks of what she’s doing is actually a refreshing change. And even though the Queen is the head of the monarchy, Prince Philip is the one who wears the trousers behind palace doors. He is also the head of the family, and he has made a lot of positive changes to the Buckingham Palace throughout his life.
