Oprah Winfrey, along with the Oprah Winfrey Network, will host a global two-night special "OWN Spotlight: Where Do We Go From Here?" in response to the country's current state of civil unrest following the death of George Floyd while in police custody.

According to a press release from Discovery Communications released Thursday, the special hopes to dive deeper into the concepts surrounding the public's outrage, as well as "offer insight" on how the United States and the rest of the world can move forward.

In a statement, Winfrey shared the organic beginnings of the "Where Do We Go From Here?" special, writing, "I’ve been having private conversations with friends and thought leaders about what’s next and where we go from here. I thought it would be both of interest and service to bring their ideas, concerns and comments into a national spotlight."

Taking part in the conversation with Winfrey are some of her celebrity friends and A-list colleagues including politician Stacey Abrams, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, award-winning director Ava DuVernay, and NAACP national board member Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II. Together they will propose "tangible plans" to answer questions like "what matters now?" and "what matters next?"

"There is no one like Oprah to bring us all together at this critical moment in our history to offer insights, perspective and action," President and CEO of Discovery Inc., David Zaslav, said. "We are honored to partner with OWN and use our global reach to amplify this important discussion about the global issues of economic and social justice and equality to a potential audience of one billion people across more than 200 markets in a way that only Discovery can."

Part one of the "OWN Spotlight: Where Do We Go From Here?" special will air on Tuesday, June 9, with part two airing on Wednesday, June 10. Both parts will premiere at 9 p.m. EDT.

The special be available to stream for free via OWN's YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram pages. Viewers can also tune in on the Watch OWN and Discovery Family TVE apps.

On television, the special will air on the Oprah Winfrey Network and all of Discovery's other U.S. channels, which include Discovery Channel, Food Network, HGTV, TLC, Animal Planet, Travel Channel, Investigation Discovery, Science Channel, Discovery Family, MotorTrend, Cooking Channel, DIY Network, Great American Country, American Heroes Channel, Destination America, Discovery Life, Discovery en Español, and Discovery Familia.
