Oreo has teamed up with PFLAG, an LGBTQ+ organization that supports parents, in a rainbow Oreo cookie giveaway.

The company created the #ProudParent initiative with the organization to “shine a spotlight on the powerful impact love and acceptance can have on LGBTQ+ youth.” The two allies are looking to inspire parents and families to “come out in loud public support.”

To do so, Oreo has created its first-ever rainbow Oreo, which it is offering in a cookie giveaway on top of the partnership. The limited-edition Oreo cookie pack features a rainbow crème center and the traditional outer chocolate cookies.

Oreo said it will give away 10,000 packs to the cookies to people that share a photo that show what “allyship” means to them. Participants in the contest need to snap a photo of what being a #ProudParent means and post in on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtags #ProundParent and #Giveaway while tagging @Oreo. Also, contest entrants need to be a follower of @Oreo.

“Having a supportive, affirming family—and committed allies—is crucial for the health and wellbeing of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people,” Brian K. Bond, Executive Director, PFLAG National, said in a statement. “We are grateful for our partnership with OREO, and for OREO's commitment to our shared vision of a diverse and inclusive world, made better by loving, proud parents and allies."

Also, thought the PFLAG partnership, Oreo has created a #ProudParent movie that shows the support of parents with LGBTQ+ children.

The contest ends Oct. 31, or when all 10,000 rewards are claimed, Oreo said.
