Chinese smartphone giant Huawei is, reportedly, working on a new Huawei Nova 6 handset -- a premium, mid-range refresh of the previously-launched Huawei Nova 5. The firm is expected to reveal the new Nova handset to the mobile world before the end of this year.

It was in October when the first render images of the upcoming Huawei Nove 6 leaked online and, now, the mobile world will get another fresh detail about the upcoming device. The latest image was already shared on Twitter by Evan Bass and it revealed a dual-camera punch-hole design on the front, just like that of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus.

Additionally, the Gizmo China has also learned from its trusted sources that the upcoming Huawei Nova 6 will feature an LCD display and not an AMOLED screen that many Huawei fans are expecting. The LCD display also explains why the new device will likely have a side-mounted fingerprint reader and not an in-display fingerprint scanner that was introduced in the previous Nova 5 handset.

The Gizmo China also reported that the upcoming Nova 6 will get a triple-camera setup on the back of the device. The device is believed to get a laser focus system flanks on the right part of the device. Just like its predecessor, the upcoming Nova 6 will also feature the Nova logo at the bottom of the device.

However, unlike the Nova 5, the upcoming Nova 6 will be powered by the latest Huawei Kirin 990 mobile chipset. The Huawei Kirin 990 mobile chipset is the Chinese firm’s s only mobile chipset that comes with an integrated 5G modem, which means that the upcoming Nova 6 will be a 5G smartphone. The Nova 6 will also support 40W fast battery charging, according to the latest TENAA listing.

Huawei is known to refresh its Nova smartphone lineup twice a year. So, given the previous Nova 5 device was just introduced last June, the upcoming Huawei Nova 6 might be introduced in December, just in time for the holiday season.

The upcoming Huawei Nova 6 is expected to replace the Kirin 810 SoC-equipped Huawei Nova 5. This previous version of the Huawei Nova series features a 6.39-inch OLED notched display and four camera systems. Stay tuned for more Huawei Nova 6 updates.
