KEY POINTS

  • Huawei will release the Huawei P40 in Paris on Mar. 2020
  • Earlier leaks revealed Huawei P40 would feature five rear camera sensors
  • A new report claims that Huawei P40 only have three rear cameras

Chinese tech giant Huawei will launch the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro in Mar. 2020. Since last year, we have seen a lot of leaks online, revealing the alleged specs and features of the device. The latest is a render from 91mobiles, which gives us a better look at the highly anticipated device.

It appears that the latest Huawei P40 render different from the previous one we saw with five rear camera setup. The image shows only three rear cameras and a dual-selfie camera in front. The back part of the device bears a square camera bump similar to the iPhone 11 series and Google Pixel 4.

Huawei maintained all three rear camera sensors in a vertical arrangement. While the render does not say about the specs of the rear camera setup, previous Huawei P40 leaks might give us an idea. At least we can anticipate a primary sensor, presumably a 64MP Leica optics.

The rear camera setup of Huawei P40 could also feature a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto lens or a 20-megapixel ultra angle wide sensor, according to earlier leaks. Additionally, we could see an LED flash on the right side housed in the camera bump. The front of the upcoming device shows that the company dropped the notch for the dual-selfie camera.

Instead, it sports a cutout that remarkably resembles that of Samsung Galaxy S10 5G. The render also shows that the screen of the Huawei P40 should be at least 6.1 or 6.2-inch. Other notable features shown in the render include keys located at the right edge of the smartphone along with the power button.

It also has a USB-c port but seems to lack the standard headphone jack. At this point, we could not confirm if the render is another CAD mockup or an official one. But, it is important not to get too excited about the details revealed in the Huawei P40 render.

We suggest taking this information with a grain of salt. The Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro will launch in Paris a couple of months from now. The upcoming smartphones from Huawei might retail a little bit higher than last year’s Huawei P30 series.
