  • Huawei will reportedly release a Mate X refresh in the first quarter of 2020
  • The refresh will be allegedly called Huawei Mate XS
  • The Huawei Mate XS based on the 3C certification might feature 65W fast charging support

A new Huawei Mate X model, presumably the successor of Mate X, has recently received certification from the CCC of China, according to a new report. The device has a model number of TAH-AN00m. While the certification does not reveal much about the device, it tells us that it will feature a 65W fast charging support.

The Chinese tech and telecom giant Huawei introduced the Mate X as a revolutionary foldable smartphone with 8 GB of RAM and a Kirin 980 processor. Earlier reports claim that the company will release a refresh next year. The next generation, which many assumed will be called Huawei Mate X2, will arrive in the third quarter of 2020. However, before that, the refresh, which might be called Huawei Mate XS, will reportedly come in the first quarter of next year.

Rumors have it that Huawei might unveil the Huawei Mate XS at the MWC 2020 trade show. Earlier reports claimed that the mate X refresh would sport the Kirin 990 processor. The only apparent upgrade for this rumored refresh or the 20V or 3.25A or 65W charging. The same charging feature is anticipated to arrive on the Huawei P40 flagship series.

The 65W fast charging support presumably on the Huawei Mate XS is a significant leap considering that the Mate X only supports 55W charging. As you have probably noticed, foldable smartphones are gaining traction. Samsung was the first company to release the Samsung Galaxy Fold, which is the first-ever foldable smartphone to arrive in the market.

Huawei also released its first version of the foldable smartphone, but its release was delayed several times. And, because of the US sanction, the device is only available in the Chinese market, for now. Motorola is also releasing the Motorola RAZR 2019, but the company recently postponed the release and has not yet revealed its release window.

Rumors have it that Apple will also release its own version of the foldable smartphone, but it is still waiting for a better display. It is worth noting that the details about the Huawei mate XS mentioned earlier are interesting, but these are not official. Because of this, we recommend taking these details with a pinch of salt.
