The unidentified tourist was shocked when he saw the enormous carpet python dangling from the roof while strangling the currawong. He uploaded the photo on Reddit.

“This is in Australia I have been here for a week and the legends are true about that place!” he captioned it.

The photo soon went viral with people commenting that this is common in Australia and that pythons are usually found in roofs or houses.

“I don't think this photo could be anymore Australian,” a user commented. “Australia......the place where everything tries to kill you,” wrote another

A photo of the snake from another angle was also uploaded to Facebook by Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers.

“A big part of Christmas Day is eating a lot of food. This Carpet Python also decided to have a bog feast today as well. I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas with friends and family,” the caption read.
