“I Am Jazz” is returning with an all-new episode this Tuesday, and it seems Jazz’s weight gain problem will continue to be the focus of the show this week. After learning that her bottom surgery won’t go as planned due to her recent weight gain, the 17-year-old will commit to losing weight for the operation to move forward.

According to the synopsis for Season 4, episode of the TLC series titled “Resisting Temptation,” Jazz will now work on shedding some pounds, so she could be eligible for the life-changing, transfeminine bottom surgery. Based on the title of the new installment, it appears Jazz will have a hard time resisting her urges to binge-eat.

In the latest snippet posted over TLC’s website, Jazz’s surgeon Dr. Marci Bowers says, “I saw Jazz and her fox about six months ago and that was actually the first time I’ve gotten to exam Jazz.” She then continues by revealing that there are a number of issues about Jazz’s bottom surgery, and among them is her weight gain, which could prevent her from completely transitioning.

Late last week, Jennings took to her YouTube channel to reveal to her fans that she has binge eating disorder. She also admitted that the condition is quite challenging for her. “This past few months have been very difficult for me ever since I got my license I’ve had more freedom to go to restaurants and, you know, I order in food through those apps that like deliver to your door … they made me fat.”

The transgendered teen also expressed via Twitter that she apparently needs to lose at least 30 pounds in order for her to get bottom surgery. “I knew my weight gain was an issue, but I didn’t realize it would affect something that I’ve wanted my entire life,” she added in her tweet.

Aside from trying to eliminate some body fat, Jazz and mom Jeannette will join a debate about a controversial research claiming children shouldn’t be subjected to hormone therapy until they reach puberty. Given that Jazz and her family are pro-LGBTQ, the mother-daughter duo will do their best to justify the practicality of starting early.

“I Am Jazz” Season 4, episode 3 airs Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 10 p.m. EST on TLC.
