Users of Apple's latest mobile operating software, iOS 5, have been waiting for an untethered jailbreak to be released by any Dev-team. However, the wait is not going to be over soon.

A Chronic Dev-team member, who uses @pod2g as a Twitter handle, posted an update on the micro-blogging site: Don't expect a release soon.

However, the good news for people using tethered jailbreak RedSn0w for their iOS 5 devices is that the hacker, who has been working on different jailbreaks for two years, has managed to find a bug that can untether Apple's new operating system.

@pod2g in his tweet said: Hey jailbreaking friends, I've found a bug that can untether iOS 5. Don't expect a release soon, but I'm gonna work hard in it.

Meanwhile, iH8sn0w released a semitethered jailbreak for iOS5 and 5.0.1 beta 2. The Sn0wbreeze 2.8b10 will be compatible with the iPhone 3GS (old and new bootrom), the iPhone 4, the iPod Touch 3G, the iPod Touch 4 and the iPad 1G. It won't work on the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 because of the A5 processor.

Sn0wbreeze 2.8b10 is untethered for only the iPhone 3GS with old bootrom. Other tethered devices are booted via iBooty which comes with Sn0wbreeze.
