  • Apple is set to launch its new flagship iPhones sometime this year
  • The new lineup is probably called iPhone 14 series
  • The iPhone 14 series will reportedly feature two Pro models

Apple usually launches its new iPhone flagship line-up in September or October but with the considerable updates in the development of this year's smartphones, a lot of rumors and leaks have surfaced online. The latest is a leaked image of the upcoming devices' screens, new information on its price range, features and several other interesting details.

The latest leak, which provides iPhone fans a first look at the supposed iPhone 14 series' screens, came from Twitter user SaranByte. The leaked image first surfaced on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo and they featured the front panels of the iPhone 14 series.

Notable changes include much thinner bezels on the more expensive iPhone 14 Pro models and Pro models having a slightly different aspect ratio from 19.5:9 to 20:9. Several industry watchers commented that the leaked iPhone 14 panels also underlined that the Cupertino-based tech giant might release two models in the upcoming lineup; the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Additionally, the Pro models also appear much taller than the basic iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max. The leaked image also emphasized the absence of a notch on the panels but the pill-shaped cutout for the proprietary Apple TrueDepth sensor and the selfie camera hole are visible, suggesting Apple has chosen to keep them.

Aside from the leaked image of the supposed iPhone 14 series panels, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has some good and bad news about the lineup's price. He specifically said, "for the first time, the non-Pro iPhone line will get a 6.7-inch screen option."

He added, "I think that version of the phone will be extremely popular given that users will now be able to get Apple’s largest iPhone size for at least $200 less than before." But, he also suggested a potential $300 increase because of Apple's decision to replace the iPhone 13 Mini with an iPhone 13 Max.

Gurman also highlighted that this year, consumers can expect four smartphones with the descriptions: 6.1-inch iPhone 14, 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The tech journalist also shared some interesting features of Apple's flagship iPhone this year. This includes the 48-megapixel camera sensor for the wide-angle camera exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro models, with the regular models keeping the 12-megapixel camera.

The more expensive iPhone 14 models will also reportedly house Apple's latest A16 chip, while the standard models will feature the A15 chip or a variant of it, Gurman said. These details, however, are not official.
