Apple's latest iPhone is expected to hit the market next month, sending gadget geeks into a frenzy to get their hands on the trendy smartphone. The device will likely be called the iPhone 7 and could be released as soon as Sept. 7, when the Cupertino, Calif.-based company is reportedly scheduled to host a press event to introduce new products. With the phone rumored to be available for purchase on Sept. 16, below are 8 things to expect from the long awaited update.

1. No Headphone Jack

Without a headphone jack, the new iPhone 7 would be slimmer and more water resistant, according to Time. Consumers could instead use wireless earbuds to listen to their favorite songs and podcasts.

2. Dual Camera

Bloomberg claims the iPhone 7 will feature sensors that take two photographs simultaneously before combining to create a single image with brighter colors and more details.

"The upgraded camera is likely to be one of the biggest draws of the new phone," the Telegraph wrote.

3. New Design

The new iPhones could feature a curved screen modeled after Samsung’s newer smartphones, according to Nikkei Asian Review.

"In autumn we expect to see a 4.7-inch phone (the iPhone 7), and a 5.5-inch model (the iPhone 7 Plus)," MacWorld wrote.

4. No 16GB Option

Apple may finally embrace 32GB to compete with Android phones.

“The belief is more and more as we use iCloud services for documents and our photos and videos and music, that perhaps the most price-conscious customers are able to live in an environment where they don’t need gobs of local storage because these services are lightening the load,” Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of global marketing, recently told tech blogger John Gruber.

5. iOS 10

The iPhone 7 will likely come with Apple's latest software already installed, as earlier phones have in the past.

6. No Home Button

The new iPhone could do away with the home button and instead use a fingerprint scanner under the screen.

7. Bigger Battery

Leaked images suggest the iPhone 7 could be a step toward Apple promoting longer battery life in its devices.

8. Different Colors

The first "Rose Gold" iPhone last year was so popular with consumers that Apple is expected to come out with even more options in September. "Space Black" and "Deep Blue" could be among the many choices.
