Grailr LLC is rolling out a new update to its snarky weather app called Carrot Weather. The new version introduces a redesigned widget, new content and a couple of new features for the holiday season.

Carrot Weather version 4.4’s highlight is the redesigned Today widget. Once installed, users will see a brand new design for both iOS and watchOS devices. Now the hourly chart uses colored dots to indicate the weather condition for each hour. Yellow is for sunny and purple is for moony.

Grailr also tweaked the temperature weather fonts to make it easier for users to tell if the temperature is going to be high or low for the day. The font now gets thicker when it’s warmer, and it becomes thinner when it’s colder. New customization options have also been added, so users should feel free to tweak the appearance of the widget.

In addition to the redesigned widget, version 4.4 also makes Carrot Weather more sarcastic than before. Apparently, the update increases the snarky remarks of the app. Grailr warns users that they will “get offended by hundreds of lines of new dialogue” with the new version. The developer also teased that there are now new dawn and twilight themes as well as two new secret locations.

Here are the other new features and changes that are implemented with the latest update:

  • Tap and hold my dialogue label to make me repeat my spoken weather summaries aloud.
  • Volume ducking makes it easier to hear my witty commentary when music is playing in another app
  • My precipitation chart more accurately graphs light/medium/heavy snow.
  • Haptic vibrations can now be toggled in the settings screen on Apple Watch.
  • Padding between elements has been reduced on the 38mm Apple Watch.
  • AR Mode and Apple Watch bug fixes.

The new version of Carrot Weather is clocking in at 106 MB. It is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices, and it also has an iMessage app for iOS and an Apple Watch app for iPhone. It requires iOS 10.0 or later versions.

Carrot Weather is one of the more popular weather apps in the iTunes Store because of its snarky forecast language and its pleasant design. The app got an overhaul last month for the iPhone X. Though it isn’t a free app, 9To5Mac says spending $4.99 for the app is all worth it if you want a different kind of forecast-checking for your Apple device.
