There is now another reason to believe that Apple could be launching a successor to the 4-inch iPhone SE in the not-so-distant future. A leak apparently provides details about some of the rumored handset’s hardware specs and features.

Someone took to Chinese microblogging site Weibo to leak a photo showing what appears to be back covers of the next-generation iPhone SE and a Chinese-language literature containing information about the panels. According to the leak, the iPhone SE 2’s back covers are made of glass and the dual back camera lenses are vertically aligned.

The leaker also noted that he wasn’t sure if the handset will be called “iPhone SE 2,” but the upcoming device is said to look better than last year’s iPhone 8 flagship phone. Furthermore, he said that the document that came with the glass panels states that the next-gen iPhone SE could start shipping in June in time for Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference.

According to Phone Arena, it would make sense for Apple to outfit its iPhone SE successor with a glass black, so that the lower priced model could seamlessly join the 2017 lineup of iPhones — iPhone X, 8 and 8 Plus — that come with glass backs and support wireless charging. Metal backs on smartphones interfere with wireless charging technology, so the use of a glass back panel for the iPhone SE 2 could be hinting at the device being capable of wirelessly charging its battery.

Though the leak was shared on Weibo last year, it is gaining attention now because Tekz24 reports that a tip from a reliable source corroborates the idea that the iPhone SE 2 could indeed feature glass back panels. Apple hasn’t confirmed anything about the iPhone SE 2 yet, but Tekz24 founder Sachin Bhatt says technology analysts have said that the handset will surely arrive this 2018. Bhatt also shared some renders that he and his team created after collecting all information about the iPhone SE 2. Check out the renders they made here.

Apple unveiled the first-generation iPhone SE last March 21, 2016 and released the handset 10 days later. Last year, rumors about a successor to the very successful 4-inch iPhone started to surface. However, everyone was left disappointed when the Cupertino giant did not launch the next-generation iPhone SE and focused on the 10th anniversary model instead.

This year, with the iPhone X already out, rumors about the iPhone SE 2 are starting to gain traction again. Several news outlets have since claimed that the upcoming lower priced Apple smartphone will likely sport a 4- to 4.2-inch display. The device is also believed to be powered by the A10 Fusion processor that’s found inside the iPhone 7.

There are also reports saying that the iPhone SE 2 will two storage variants: a decent 32GB model and a 128GB model. There’s mention of 2GB RAM and a 1,700mAh battery as well. When it comes to the camera technology it be sporting, rumors claim the next-gen iPhone SE will come with a 12-megapixel single-lens camera on its back and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter.
