Bruno Fernandes, who joined Manchester United during this January transfer window, has hailed the Old Trafford club saying it is the “best club in England”.

In a bid to strengthen the side and once again challenge for the Premier League title, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Co paid $61 million to sign Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon. The talented midfielder justified his heavy price tag by winning the Premier League’s Player of the Month award.

Before the coronavirus pandemic halted the soccer season across the globe, Fernandes managed to make nine appearances for the Red Devils, where he scored three times. Ever since the Portuguese moved to Old Trafford, Solskjaer’s dependability on the likes of Paul Pogba massively reduced but Fernandes’ impressive performances have also threatened Pogba’s place in the squad amid speculations about the Frenchman’s departure from Man Utd this summer.

The 25-year-old Fernandes, who has followed Cristiano Ronaldo’s footsteps by moving from Sporting Lisbon to Man Utd, has dazzled in the Premier League with three assist and two goals this season.

In a recent interview, Fernandes admitted that he had to improve his all-round game to meet the demands and to sustain himself at the highest level.

“My vision of coming to Manchester United is that I’m at one of the best clubs in the world, for me, the best club in England,” said Fernandes during in an interview with Talent Ain’t Enough on Instagram, as reported by The Statesman.

“My idea for the next years are doing better than I have until now. For me, in games, it is not good enough because now it is maybe the most difficult part. The players start to recognize your game, start to know how you move, how you pass, how you shoot and the things become difficult now."

"So now I need to improve more and to work more and understand more the teams who I play against because they will understand me better, but I need to be prepared to understand better the difficulties they can have,” the Portuguese midfielder further added.

Man Utd are currently placed fifth in the Premier League table, two points away from a Champions League spot for the next season. It was earlier reported that Premier League, which has not been played since March 13 due to the coronavirus pandemic, could be restarted on June 17.
