Jada Pinkett Smith's recent Facebook post has some fans wondering if she was addicted to drugs when she was younger. The day after her 42nd birthday, Will Smith's wife said on the social media site: “Yesterday I turned one year older, and I reflected on where I have been and where I am now,” she wrote. “What I learned about myself is this: when I was younger I was not a good problem solver, meaning I had a very difficult time dealing with my problems in life.”

The “Collateral” star then touched on the challenges she faced growing up. “I had many addictions, of several kinds, to deal with my life issues, but today, at 42, I have my wisdom, my heart and my conscience as the only tools to overcome life's inevitable obstacles.”

Though she doesn’t specifically say what addiction she was suffering with, it is believed it was either drugs or an eating disorder, the Inquisitr wrote.

The star recently opened up to OK! Magazine, revealing that her mother had been addicted to drugs when she was growing up. She had Smith when she was a teenager and abused drugs until Jada was 17 or 18, but she said she has since turned those rough experiences into “power” and “motivation” in her current life.

“I have become a good problem solver with those tools, and I am damn proud. Thank you for all the love that was given to me for my birthday this year,” she wrote on Facebook.

The post garnered more than 65,000 likes and was shared more than 1,500 times. Smith is currently filming “The Penguins of Madagascar,” which is due out in 2015.
