Looks like James Bond is set to take on the most difficult mission of his life – fatherhood.

According to Daily Mail, the upcoming movie in the Bond franchise, “No Time To Die,” will see Daniel Craig’s character become a father to a 5-year-old girl named Mathilde. The report also suggests that Dr. Madeleine Swann, played by the French actress Lea Seydoux, will be the mother of his child.

A source close to the makers confirmed that the iconic spy will become a father in the movie. The insider also revealed that it was Craig’s idea to make Bond a father since he wants to surprise the fans.

The report also claimed that apart from fatherhood, the film will explore many more layers of the character created by Ian Fleming.

“Yes, it is true. Bond is a dad. Daniel wanted to make this Bond film the most surprising and entertaining yet. Daniel is older and his Bond is maturing and looking at life through the prism of fatherhood. But there's a lot more to it than that,” a source told the publication.

Citing the same source, the media outlet further stated that making Bond a father in the movie opens up a whole new world in terms of story development and fans would get to see many powerful moments on the big screen.

''Bond has always managed to charm his way into the hearts and beds of hundreds of beautiful women, seemingly without any consequences. Making him a father opens up a whole new world in terms of drama,” the source said.

Recently, Craig admitted that playing Bond for 14 years has been “incredibly emotional” for him, and he did not hold back in saying that playing the iconic character has been massive thing for him. Speaking in an interview, the “Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” actor shared that he is “proud” of his final Bond film and fans would not see any loose ends.

The upcoming film will see Bond enjoying his life in Jamaica. But his peace is short-lived when one of his friends from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be really hazardous when he meets a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

The cast of “No Time To Die” also includes Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Jeffrey Wright, Rami Malek, Ana de Armas, Lashana Lynch, David Dencik, Billy Magnussen and Dali Benssalah.

The film is scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 25, 2020.
