Amid recent reports of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck having tense conversations, In Touch Weekly magazine reported Wednesday that the actress had an emotional breakdown after her estranged husband suggested that they finalize their divorce.

Garner and Affleck, both 44, announced their divorce last June, but have not yet filed the paperwork.

“Ben and Jen were talking in the car,” a source told In Touch. “There was a lot of gesturing, and it seemed intense. Jen looked really upset, like she was crying. Ben seemed both detached and, at other times, like he was reaching out to her.”

Affleck finally told Garner that he is ready to do the paperwork for their divorce, another source told the magazine.

“The divorce is moving forward — their business managers are hashing out their finances right now — and Ben wants to get on with his life,” the insider said. “Jen started crying when Ben told, but he's had enough.”

Recently the two appeared to be upset on different occasions when they were seen together. Last Tuesday, Garner and Affleck were spotted having a serious conversation in Los Angeles and the “Gone Girl” actor particularly looked upset, Daily Mail reported.

The co-parents to three children were also seen in the middle of an intense conversation at the neighborhood block party last weekend. Garner seemed to be disturbed after checking her phone, Page Six reported at the time.

Earlier this month, Garner reportedly seen was seen fighting back tears when she met Affleck, who shot angry looks at the actress as she tried to hide her emotions.
