  • Jennifer Lopez said change is not easy but sometimes necessary
  • The "Let's Get Loud" singer realized she was good on her own
  • Lopez also realized that happiness should start from within

Jennifer Lopez opened up about her happiness in her most recent interview.

Lopez is always working on her growth as a person. When the Hollywood star sat down for an interview with Apple Music 1's Ebro Darden about her new single "Cambia El Paso" with Rauw Alejandro, she talked about the current season of her life. In the interview, the "Hustlers" star reiterated what she previously told Zane Lowe about finding her own happiness.

"That has been a journey for me, and that's what you guys have watched," Lopez was quoted as saying by Entertainment Tonight, before noting how her supporters have witnessed her "find [her] way" through the years. "This moment for me was not about anybody else. It was about me realizing I was good on my own and happiness starts from within me. Once I realized that, things happened."

"Things happen that you don't expect to ever happen. Once you get good. Once you get to the point where you're like, 'This is not right for me, or this doesn't feel good, or I need to make an adjustment here. This is not really about anybody else but me.' Once you do that, stuff starts falling into place," she continued.

The "On the Floor" singer acknowledged that change is not easy but is sometimes necessary. Lopez was previously engaged to Alex Rodriguez. They called off their engagement and announced their split in April. She reconciled with Affleck weeks after she and the baseball player parted ways.

The "Marry Me" star spoke about the matter of her heart with Lowe earlier this month. During their conversation, she assured her fans that she was doing well.

"I'm super happy. I know people are always wondering, 'How are you? What's going on? Are you OK?' This is it. I've never been better," Lopez was quoted by E! News, as saying. "And I just want everybody to know that it's the best time. It's the best time of my life."

Lopez and Affleck are "both thrilled" with their reconciliation. They are both "fully committed" to spending the rest of their lives together. Also, they do not feel that they are rushing things at this point in their lives.

The "Gone Girl" actor and "Let's Get Loud" singer were previously engaged between 2002 and 2004. They got back together in May.
