  • Jeremy Lin could be back in basketball action as early as this month in the CBA
  • Lin is ready to buckle down to work after testing positive for COVID-19 in August
  • Lin may still try luck in the NBA, but after his CBA stint with the Beijing Ducks

Jeremy Lin is nearing a return to basketball action after the 33-year-old was spotted attending the Beijing Ducks vs. Shanghai Sharks in a Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) game matchup on Sunday, October 31.

“Linsanity” is scheduled to suit up anew for the Ducks although the actual date of his return has yet to be known.

He sat along the sidelines beside injured teammate Fang Shuo and team owner Qin Xiaowen.

The Ducks lost to the Sharks, 105-86, the South China Morning Post reported.

Lin had just arrived in the CBA bubble in Zhuji, Zhejiang province. The first part of the season will be played in the region until November 14.

Before that game, Lin posted several pictures of him on social media. In the caption, he said that he was pretty excited to reunite and train with his teammates on his first day.

“I‘m headed to Zhuji for the first CBA bubble,” he wrote. “The CBA season is divided into three segments, the first segment ends November 14 and the Beijing Ducks are currently 5-1. Excited to keep ramping up my body and workload,” part of Lin’s caption on that Instagram post read.

Although there is no specific date on when Lin will spring back in action, that could happen as early as this month according to Chinese media.

Lin had arrived in China in August. However, he suffered a setback when he tested positive for COVID-19.

He was forced to undergo treatment at a hospital and was discharged only in September. He spent most of his time in Shanghai before eventually traveling to Zhuji over the weekend.

For now, it appears Lin is content bringing his talent to the CBA after seeing his NBA return dreams fall short.

He took a chance last NBA season via the G-League route, suiting up for the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Despite a credible showing that saw him as one of the G-League’s top scorers, no offer came the American-Asian’s way.

It remains to be seen if Lin will end up trying his luck once more in the NBA after his CBA stint with the Ducks.
