Hollywood actress and TV host Chelsea Handler and American-Filipino stand-up comedian Jo Koy have decided to part ways after dating for almost a year.

Handler shared the news on Instagram Tuesday, posting a video they pre-recorded to celebrate what would have been their first anniversary.

Who exactly is Jo Koy, and what is his net worth?

Jo Koy, 51, also known as Joseph Glenn Herbert, was born in Tacoma, Washington, on June 2, 1971.

His father is American, while his mother is Filipino. His parents got divorced when he was just 13. After the divorce, his mother raised him along with his two other siblings.

Jo Koy’s career started in the mid-90s in Las Vegas. People began noticing him when he became a regular performer on the show, "Catch a Rising Star," at the MGM Grand.

He eventually moved to Los Angeles and rented out the Huntridge Theater for his performances. Back then, he would go door to door to sell tickets to his shows.

He later got invited to appear on the stand-up comedy show "ComicView," which aired on BET from 1992 to 2008. He also performed on multiple tours and TV shows, including "Jamie Foxx Presents Laffapalooza!”

Jo Koy gradually made a name for himself as he began appearing on several TV shows, including "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," "The Late Late Show with James Corden," and "Lights Out with David Spade," and many more.

The funnyman also appeared in over 140 episodes of Handler’s late-night talk show "Chelsea Lately," which ran from 2007 to 2014.

Jo Koy, one of the most popular touring comedians in the world to date, has a net worth of $5 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Meanwhile, Handler only had good words to say about her ex after the breakup.

“This man blew my heart open with love, and because of him, my life experience has changed forever. To be loved and adored by [Jo Koy] has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. He renewed my faith in men, in love, in being 100% who I am, and I’ve never been more optimistic for the future,” she said.

“This is not an ending. It’s another beginning, and it’s a comfort to know that I am still loved and love this man the way the sun loves the moon and the moon loves the sun,” she added.

Handler and Jo Koy first went public with their relationship in September 2021.
