  • John Krasinski revealed what made him decide to do "A Quiet Place II"
  • Krasinski feels that the second movie is better than the first one
  • The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on March 20

After the success of the first movie, the dynamic duo of Emily Blunt and John Krasinski is all set to scare people once again with the sequel to the 2018 blockbuster hit “A Quiet Place,” aptly named “A Quiet Place II.”

However, Krasinski has been quite vocal about how he never wanted to make the sequel because he felt that the first one was quite close to his heart and did not want to touch it. But what happened and why did Krasinski decide to come up with a second film? The “Office” star gave the answers to all the burning questions while promoting the movie.

Speaking in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the 40-year-actor said that before he was not even thinking of making a second movie because he felt that nothing will be more “organic” to him than the first one. But while shooting the second film, the “Jack Ryan” actor realized that he has actually made a better movie than the first part.

“I said I would never do a second one. Nothing could be as personal or be as organic to me as the first one and turns out, I think I like this one better,” Krasinski said.

Blunt, who was alongside Krasinski during the interview, noted that the second movie gives a new dimension to her character and she absolutely loves all the “maternal ferocity” that her character has. The “Sicario” star further stated that the moviegoers will see Blunt’s character meeting a lot of new people in the film and doing a bunch of action sequences, too.

“She (Evelyn Abbott) is now a single mother and how on earth is she going to keep those three children alive. Where does she go? What does she do? So, I feel it is injected with more harrowing set pieces and action sequences and who you meet along the way, how do you know you can trust them?” Blunt said.

The second movie will start from the point where the first one ended. Evelyn is left alone with three children, including a newborn baby, and must travel to find a way to survive and search for help.

“A Quiet Place” turned out to be a massive hit for the real-life couple. The movie made on the production budget of $21 million went on to accumulate more than $340 million at the global box office. The film was chosen as one of the top 10 movies of 2018 by the National Board of Review (NBR) and the American Film Institute (AFI).

Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe will be coming back to reprise their roles of Regan and Marcus in the sequel while Cillian Murphy will be portraying the role of Emmett in the upcoming movie.

Written and directed by Krasinski, “A Quiet Place: Part II” is scheduled to hit theaters on March 20.
