Johnny Depp might play as Joker in Robert Pattinson’s superhero flick “Batman.”

According to David James of We Got This Covered, Warner Bros. has started looking for actors to play as Joker in the upcoming sequels of “The Batman” and Depp is reportedly one of the prime candidates for the role. The publication noted that this could be a sign that the actor’s career troubles might be coming to an end.

Considering Depp’s powerful performance in his previous films, there is no doubt that he could play the character well. James said that Depp was a “natural fit” for the “eccentric Joker.” Depp could combine “Fantastic Beasts’” Grindewald’s villainy appeal with “Pirates of the Caribbean’s” Jack Sparrow’s wild and unpredictable side.

Twitter users reacted to the rumors with delight. They are excited to see Depp as Joker in the big screen.

“Johnny Depp being considered for the role of Joker in the new Batman Trilogy. Yay or Nay?” @maxvayshia wrote on Twitter.

“Definite yay... Just imagined him playing it and I already can't think of anyone better suited to the role,” @dabitrinity commented.

“Seems Johnny is making a big comeback. First, Disney wants to bring him back as Captain Jack Sparrow and now Warner Bros. wants to cast him as Joker. This is soooool sick, man!” @maxvayshia wrote.

“It's only a rumour but he would be perfect for the role, it's practically made for him,” @mderndarkwizard added.

“Yaaaaaaaaaayyyyy He's got that joker attitude, can be cunning, funny, and still make sense in a whole different way. He sees the world differently. These are conclusions I came to based on his movies,” @Chicruz_William added.

In related news, J.K. Rowling has been praised for defending Depp following Amber Heard’s violence and abuse allegations. According to Depp, the “Harry Potter” author knew the truth. She also saw the evidence and understood that Depp was only falsely accused.

Aside from Rowling, Depp’s friend Paul Bettany publicly defended him from his critics. Many criticized the “Avengers” star’s post. But four years later, several commented on his post to show their support for Depp after Heard's audio tape confessing that she hit Depp leaked.
