Fan-favorite "Jujutsu Kaisen" manga is returning with brand new chapters this August. The manga is currently on a hiatus after creator Gege Akutami announced he is taking a break due to health issues.

The official Twitter handle of Shonen Jump has confirmed the release date of "Jujutsu Kaisen" Chapter 153. The new chapter will release on Aug. 1 in the U.S.

Twitter user Ducky has shared the preview of "Jujutsu Kaisen" Chapter 153.

"The long-awaited 'Jujutsu Kaisen' will resume its serialization!! In Preparation for the Culling Game, Yuji Itadori is Heading Towards Hakari, but..…!!" read the preview of "Jujutsu Kaisen" Chapter 153.

After the conclusion of the Zenin arc in Chapter 152, Weekly Shonen Jump's editorial department and Akutami released separate statements in June confirming the hiatus.

"Due to Akutami Sensei's health issues, Jujutsu Kaisen will be taking a break starting next issue. Akutami Sensei wanted to continue working on the manga, but after a meeting with the editorial department, it was decided that the prudent course of action would be to take a temporary break to allow for any health issues to recover, the weekly said in the statement.

Akutami said he was taking a much-needed break to recover from his health issues. He assured the readers that he was not suffering from a serious illness.

"I want to reassure everyone that I am not suffering from any kind of serious illness and my mental state is strong. I do apologize for the long wait. When I return, I will treat it as the start of a new series and do my very best," Akutami said.

In "Jujutsu Kaisen" Chapter 152, Maki faced her mother who was screaming for her life. Elsewhere, Naoya was crawling on the floor and spitting blood after his fierce battle against Maki.

He was shown ridiculing Maki for her inability to kill him.

Later, Maki's mother appeared before him and she was bleeding from the neck while holding a knife. Naoya was shocked and tried to gather some cursed energy. However, he failed and was killed by Maki's mother.

After wiping out the Zenin clan, Maki left the estate and asked Nishimiya to take care of her sister, Mai.
