  • Kai Havertz has exceeded Cristiano Ronaldo's stats at the same age
  • Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is reportedly expected to make big moves for Havertz
  • Havertz reportedly wants to play for Real Madrid only

Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz has exceeded Cristiano Ronaldo’s stats at the same age and is now reportedly Frank Lampard’s top target.

Aside from Timo Werner, Havertz is another German striker who has emerged as one of the top prospects across Europe’s top five leagues. Eurosport reported that at 21, the midfield sensation has already racked up incredible stats for Bayer Leverkusen.

In 118 appearances for the German side, Havertz has tallied a total of 36 goals and 25 assists, a stat far better than Ronaldo’s at the exact same age.

Havertz’s fine form for Leverkusen saw him being targeted by the biggest clubs ahead of the summer. Real Madrid and Manchester United were among the first reported suitors of the 21-year-old goal scorer. However, recent reports now claim that Chelsea boss Lampard is likely to go all-in to sign Havertz when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season.

According to Daily Express, sources revealed that Lampard has “two secret weapons” which he could capitalize to lure in Havertz. The report further noted that the Blues could use their German contingent to talk Havertz into a move to Stamford Bridge.

It has been said that Lampard might take a step closer to signing Havertz with a little help from Antonio Rudiger and Werner, who can reportedly convince Leverkusen to deal away its rising star.

Chelsea has been keen on pursuing Havertz and was even rumored to be prepared to sell as many as six players to make the deal happen. The Blues are also hoping to have the funds to broker a deal following Eden Hazard’s move to Real Madrid a year ago.

Lampard has his eyes set on the Premier League title next season, and signing Havertz appears to be one of his major plans. The Chelsea boss is said to be hopeful that the addition of Havertz can transform the Blues into Premier League title contenders in the near future.

But despite being tagged as favorites to sign Havertz this summer, Chelsea is still bound to find competition in Real Madrid.

Prior to being heavily linked to Chelsea, sources have claimed that Havertz wants to take his talents to La Liga. It was even emphasized that the midfield star only wants to join Madrid as he has always dreamed of playing at Bernabeu.

The interest was reportedly mutual despite having an €80 million ($90 million) initial offer rejected by Leverkusen.
