Vice President Kamala Harris has been at the forefront of backlash since she hasn’t visited the border yet to address the crisis, but she has announced that her book “Superheroes Are Everywhere” will be in all the migrant childrens' welcome packages.

Since President Joe Biden has taken office, the migrant surge has increased significantly, which has caused him to ask those crossing the Mexican border to actually not come to the U.S. While the President has made his way to the border, Harris has yet to do so. However, unaccompanied children going to a new shelter in California will receive a copy of her book in a welcome kit, FOX News reports.

When the news of these “welcome kits” came to light, with the inclusion of Harris’s 2019 book, the internet shared their confusion and disapproval.

Many are upset with the fact that tax dollars might be used to fill these kits to give to migrants coming over to the U.S.

Others believe this is an ethical violation.

On Friday, Harris was even met by angry protesters in New Hampshire while she was trying to promote Biden’s $2 trillion infrastructure proposal.

The kits aren't the only ones being given to migrants, with the group Border Perspective also supplying kits to those crossing the border, which can be purchased for them by those who wish to do so.

“During the past several weeks we’ve encountered many stories of people who have walked weeks to escape the violence and/or persecution in their home country. Many haven’t slept in days, nor have they had access to a shower. Countless journey with their children who haven’t had an actual meal or water to stay hydrated. Along with the physical needs of these immigrant families, there is so much trauma and emotional pain they are facing,” Border Perspective stated about the welcome kits.

The welcome kits include one hand towel, one comb, bath-size soap, one travel shampoo and conditioner, one adult toothbrush and toothpaste, one small travel first-aid kit, one Antibacterial Wet Wipes, one pocket tissue pack, one-gallon size bag and one Spanish bible.
