The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers are considered likely to meet in Super Bowl LIV with both teams favored by more than a touchdown in their respective conference title games. Despite the large point spreads, the betting public is backing both home teams against the spread.

According to The Action Network, Kansas City has received 63% of the bets in the 2020 AFC Championship Game against the Tennessee Titans. In Sunday night’s NFC Championship Game, 56% of the bets have been placed on the 49ers against the visiting Green Bay Packers.

Tennessee has pulled off two seemingly improbable road upsets in a row. The Titans defeated the New England Patriots as 4.5-point underdogs in the wild-card playoffs. In the divisional round, Tennessee beat MVP favorite Lamar Jackson and the No.1 seed Baltimore Ravens, despite getting 10 points.

The Patriots had won a playoff game in eight straight years. The Ravens hadn’t lost since September.

Green Bay was favored in the divisional round, but the majority of the public bets were on the Seattle Seahawks. The Packers defeated the Seahawks 28-23 at Lambeau Field.

Kansas City covered a 10-point spread last round when they defeated the Houston Texans 51-31. The Chiefs trailed 24-0 before scoring 41 unanswered points.

San Francisco easily covered a 7.5-point spread, beating the Minnesota Vikings 27-10 in the second round.

Both of Sunday’s games are rematches from the regular season. The Titans upset the Chiefs at home in Week 10 with a 35-32 victory in Tennessee. The 49ers blew out the Packers 37-8 on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 12.

According to the look-ahead line, the Chiefs would be 2.5-point favorites over the 49ers in Super Bowl LIV.
