Kate Middleton had a lukewarm relationship with Prince Harry’s exes before Meghan Markle.

There are rumors that the Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Sussex don’t go along well. According to Emily Hodgkin of Express, this isn’t the first time Middleton did not get on with Prince Harry’s partner.

Before Markle, Prince Harry dated Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas. The Duke of Sussex went out with Chelsy from 2004 to 2011.

During Peter Philip and Autumn Kelly’s royal wedding, Middleton and Chelsy stuck together. However, according to royal biographer Katie Nicholls, Middleton and Chelsy’s friendship was “lukewarm” because they were completely different. Chelsy was closer to the duchess’ sister, Pippa Middleton.

Middleton made an effort to get close with Chelsy by inviting her to go shopping. However, the latter turned down the invitation which led to a “coolness” between the two of them.

Middleton had the same relationship with Prince Harry’s other ex, Cressida. A report in 2013 claimed that Cressida said Middleton was not “keen on her relationship with Harry.” Cressida’s friends told the Telegraph that Middleton didn’t like her because she was close to her half-sister Isabella Calthorpe, who was rumored to be Prince William’s love interest at one point.

At present, the Cambridges and Sussexes are rumored to be feuding. Earlier this year, Prince Harry and Markle announced that they wanted a separate household by leaving Kensington Palace and moving to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. They are also now under Buckingham Palace’s umbrella.

A day before Prince William’s birthday last week, the palace announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would create a new charity and would leave their shared charity, the Royal Foundation. Prince Harry and Markle’s decision to have a separate charity triggered many to believe that the rumored rift was true.

Prince Harry and Markle were slammed after giving a “cold” and “useless” birthday greeting to Prince William. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex didn’t create a separate post for the future king, they only commented on Kensington Palace’s post and wrote “Happy Birthday to the Duke of Cambridge” which was very different from how they greeted Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Louis.

According to Ingrid Seward, Prince Harry and Markle “deliberately snubbed” Prince William by doing this. She also believed that what they did was pretty rude and could be construed as “purposeful.”
