Kate Middleton and Prince William shared new romantic photos on social media to celebrate another milestone in their marriage.

On Thursday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released two new portraits, which were taken at Kensington Palace this week, to mark their 10th wedding anniversary. In the first picture, Prince William can be seen gazing at a smiling Duchess Kate, who is wearing a blue wrap dress, and holding her hand.

"10 years," the caption read, along with a bride and a groom emoji.

In the second photo, Middleton cuddles up to her husband, leaning her head on Prince William's shoulder. The duke wraps his wife in his arms as he flashes a huge smile at the camera, similar to their pose in their 2010 engagement portrait, People noted.

"Taken this week ahead of The Duke and Duchess’ 10th wedding anniversary," the caption read.

Both photos were taken by British photographer Chris Floyd.

Twitter users and royal fans were quick to gush over the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s new photos. They also showered the couple with sweet and supportive messages on their wedding anniversary.

"He found himself a beautiful & wonderful partner at the same time an amazing Duchess/future Princess/future Queen for the nation! Well Done Wills," one commented.

"The updated version of the picture released to mark their engagement in 2010 how I love the Duke and Duchess’ love and happiness so much! They are soulmates without a doubt," another wrote.

"I love the fact when her friends said to Kate 'you're so lucky to be dating William' she replied he's lucky to be dating me! They didn't rush and made sure they were right for each other lovely," a third user added.

"A solid match, thank goodness William has such a loving wife, wishing them a lifetime of marital bliss, Happy Anniversary," a fourth fan wrote.

Prince William and Middleton met at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland in 2001 and had known each other for over two years before they started dating. The two had a lengthy courtship, and the second in line to the throne took his time proposing to Middleton, prompting the British press to call her "Waity Katie" at the time.

They also separated twice before Prince William popped the big question in November 2010. According to Katie Nicholl, author of "The Making of a Royal Romance," Prince William "was reluctant to bow to similar pressure and vowed not to be hurried to the altar" after learning that his dad, Prince Charles, felt that way about marrying his mom, Princess Diana.

However, following their second split, both of them realized that they were better off together. They rekindled their romance and finally tied the knot in a lavish royal wedding at Westminster Abbey in London on April 29, 2011, after eight years of dating.

Prince William and Middleton are happily married and share three children together — Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 3.
