Kate Middleton said that her breakup with Prince William was “not all bad.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had almost a decade-long courtship before he popped the big question. At present, Prince William and Middleton have been married for eight years already.

Looking back, the royal couple’s relationship wasn’t smooth sailing. They broke up two times and they talked about their splits during their engagement interview.

Middleton said that she wasn’t happy about the split, but it made her stronger. Interviewer Tom Brady interjected and asked if the breakup was a “chance to recenter yourself” and the duchess enthusiastically agreed to this.

“It’s not all bad!” Middleton said while turning to Prince William.

“Phew, got away with that one!” Prince William joked in response to Middleton’s statement.

According to Middleton’s friends, she got quite drunk on white wine and she let her guard down during their split. She was debating on whether she should text or call Prince William. Middleton’s pal added that she was telling them how much she missed Prince William, but she never mentioned it again after the said incident.

“We were both very young,” Prince William said when asked about their split. “It was at university, we were sort of both finding ourselves as such and being different characters and stuff, it was very much trying to find our own way and we were growing up.”

Earlier this year, Prince William and Middleton’s marriage was put to test when rumors about the duke cheating on his wife made headlines. There were speculations that the future king had an affair with Rose Hanbury. Gil Coren’s tweet intensified the rumors when he said that he was aware of it and insisted that the affair did happen.

However, not everyone was convinced of the alleged affair. One netizen took to Twitter and said that Prince William is too intelligent to cheat on Middleton. The second-in-line to the throne is very contented with his married life and he has his lovely wife and children to de-stress with if he needs to.

The Duke of Cambridge was last seen this past Sunday with Queen Elizabeth II sans his wife. They were attending a church service at Crathie Kirk.

Prince William and Middleton are set to start their Pakistan tour next month.
