  • Kate Middleton and Prince William's BBC special
  • Meghan Markle and Prince Harr's ITV documentary
  • Twitter fans' reaction to royal documentaries

Kate Middleton and Prince William’s BBC show was praised unlike Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s documentary.

Just recently, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s special, “A Berry Royal Christmas” was aired on the BBC. Several royal fans quickly compared it to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s controversial documentary “Harry and Meghan: An African Journey” that aired on ITV in October.

According to Harley RIchardson of Daily Mail, the Cambridges and Sussexes’ shows were very different in terms of style and tone. In her interview, Markle shared her struggles as a royal under the spotlight. Meanwhile, Prince Harry admitted that his anxieties needed “constant management.” Their revelations sparked concern among the royal family.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Middleton maintained a playful roulade battle and showed their light-hearted banter with Mary Berry and Nadiya Hussain. Several Twitter users expressed their preference between the two shows and chose the future king and queen’s special.

“THAT is how you do a royal documentary. Warmth, happiness, love, teamwork & nothing but respect for charity and people. And LOL at Prince William immediately recruiting Nadia for Shout! What a King! #ABerryRoyalChristmas,” one online user posted.

“AND THAT’S HOW A ROYAL SHOW/DOCUMENTARY IS DONE,” another wrote.

A different user enjoyed the show so much that she wanted a full series of Middleton and Berry together. Rachel Wells added that there was “too much joy in one programme.”

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Markle were criticized following their documentary. Karol Markowicz took to Twitter to say that she went from not caring about the British royal family to actively disliking Prince Harry and Markle after watching their show because it appeared to her that Markle was complaining about her life and Prince Harry was airing his problems with his older brother Prince William.

Another social media user sarcastically said that Markle was complaining about having a mansion, a nanny, full-time household staff, millions of dollars and a lack of a real job while there are working moms who juggle work, home and babies who can’t relate.
