Kate Middleton and Prince William had a sweet Valentine's Day celebration.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are not as tactile as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. They rarely show public display of affection. However, according to an insider, Prince William made a grand gesture for his wife on Heart's Day.

"William surprised Kate with a huge box of 50 roses on Valentine’s Day," the unnamed tipster told Us Weekly. "He handwrote the most romantic message in his card, praising her for being such a wonderful wife and mother."

Prince William and Middleton's three children — Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3 — were part of the celebration. They made the day extra special by giving their parents "handmade Valentine’s cards" that they crafted from school.

The future king and queen consort have been married for over a decade. According to the insider, they are not into "extravagant" Valentine celebrations.

"William and Kate are homebodies, so their date nights tend to be chill," the source added. "They’ll watch Netflix and documentaries when the children are in bed, order takeout, play Scrabble and enjoy a few glasses of wine. For them, it’s the simple things in life that count."

Prince William and Middleton met at the University of St. Andrews in college. They started as friends, and their friendship bloomed into a full-blown romance.

During their engagement interview, the prince shared one of the things that made their relationship work. According to him, his wife has a "naughty" sense of humor. He added that they were a perfect match because "I’ve got a really dirty sense of humor so it was good fun, we had a really good laugh and then things happened."

Last month, Middleton held a baby during their joint engagement when they visited the Clitheroe Community Hospital in Lancashire, England. The duchess seemed to enjoy carrying the baby, prompting the crowd to coo, and the prince jokingly responded, "Don't give my wife any more ideas!"

When Middleton returned the little girl to her parents, Prince William teased her, "Don't take her with you."

Prince William and Middleton will be celebrating their 11th wedding anniversary in April.
