Kate Middleton Reportedly Made Heartbreaking Request To Her Dad At Her, William’s Wedding

Kate Middleton has a very close relationship with her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton.

On her wedding day to Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge reportedly made a heartbreaking request to her dad. In an article she wrote for Vanity Fair, royal author Katie Nicholl revealed how the future queen begged her dad not to cry when she walks down the aisle. Middleton told Michael that seeing her father crying would set her off.

Michael told his daughter that he wasn’t nervous because they walked down the aisle hand in hand. He also told his friends that the royal wedding felt like a dream until he saw photos and articles in the papers the next morning.

“She had managed only a bite of toast that morning and had been up since six, but Kate did not once let her emotion get the better of her. Harry, who was standing at his brother’s side, could not resist a peek. She’s here,’ he said with a grin. ‘Just wait till you see her,’” Nicholl said.

When Prince William finally saw his bride, he reportedly mouthed the words “you look beautiful.” Decades ago, Prince Charles also said that same thing when he saw Princess Diana in her wedding gown.

After the ceremony, Prince William and Middleton stepped out of Westminster Abbey, and the latter asked the former if he’s happy, and the Duke of Cambridge said that he is.

When they arrived at the reception, the future king introduced Middleton as his wife, Mrs. Wales and all of their guests cheered them on.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Middleton also made headlines this week after it was revealed that another royal couple would be joining them on their next engagement.

On Monday, Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex will be a reception at Buckingham Palace on behalf of Queen Elizabeth to mark the UK-Africa Investment Summit.

The announcement regarding the royal couples’ joint engagement came after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they are quitting.
