  • Middleton donned the Lover's Knot tiara, Princess Diana's pearl drop earrings and Queen Elizabeth's bracelet
  • Prince William looked dapper in a suit adorned with the Garter Star, the Thistle Star and three miniature medals

Kate Middleton just made her tiara debut as the Princess of Wales.

On Tuesday, the royal, 40, sported her first tiara in nearly three years for King Charles' first state banquet as monarch at Buckingham Palace. The banquet was held to welcome South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to the U.K., People reported.

Middleton wore a white caped gown by Jenny Packham that featured silver embellishments on the shoulders. She paired it with an equally dazzling accessory — the Lover's Knot tiara.

The headpiece with pearls hanging from diamond knots was also a favorite of Middleton's late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

The diadem is over a century old and was originally commissioned from the jeweler Garrard by Queen Mary in either 1913 or 1914, according to the Court Jeweller. It is reportedly a replica of a tiara owned by Mary's grandmother, Princess Augusta of Hesse, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Middleton also accessorized with pearl drop earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana and a triple-stranded pearl and diamond bracelet from Queen Elizabeth II's jewelry collection.

She completed her look with a yellow ribbon denoting her position in the Royal Family Order and a blue sash signifying her position as a Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, the highest ranking of chivalry personally awarded by Queen Elizabeth II for being in her service.

Her husband, Prince William, looked dapper in his black suit. The Prince of Wales adorned his suit with the Garter Star, the Thistle Star and three miniature medals for Queen Elizabeth's three Jubilees that he was a part of: Gold in 2002, Diamond in 2012 and Platinum in 2022.

Social media users praised the Princess of Wales' look, describing her as gorgeous.

"Kate looks beautiful in her tiara," one commented.

"Princess of Wowsa! She looks absolutely stunning. I love that she wore Queen Elizabeth's bracelet," another added.

"She looks stunning today. [But] then again, she always does," a third fan wrote.

Middleton was last seen wearing a tiara for the Diplomatic Corps reception in December 2019, an annual event with 1,000 guests, including high commissioners, government officials and ambassadors.

She also wore the Lover's Knot tiara at the reception and paired it with the Nizam of Hyderabad necklace and a navy velvet gown with long sleeves by Alexander McQueen, according to People.
