Kate Middleton is in a complicated transition as she prepares to emerge as one of the Firm’s most powerful players.

Many have noticed that Middleton is slowly stepping up her game in the monarchy. The Duchess of Cambridge has become more confident as she prepares for her future role as queen consort.

“Kate is fast emerging as one of the Firm's most powerful players,” The Telegraph reported.

According to Toronto-based royal author and historian Carolyn Harris, Prince William’s wife is in a “complicated transition.” Middleton was being eased into royal duties more slowly than the previous generation. Her gradual but careful evolution didn’t go unnoticed to royal followers.

“Motherhood is clearly inspiring a number of Kate’s interests in causes related to her charitable work,” Harris said.

“Now that we are seeing Kate taking centre stage in a number of different contexts relating to her charities … we’re seeing these two roles as a royal mother and as a public figure.”

Middleton’s higher profile comes at the same time as when her sister-in-law Meghan Markle is receiving more attention from the public. According to royal author Penny Junor, “When Meghan first arrived, Kate looked a bit boring.”

However, Junor believed that the comparison between the two duchesses wasn’t fair. She stressed that the Sussexes and Cambridges have quite different roles. Also, Prince Harry and Markle have more freedom in terms of shaping their lives going forward compared to the future king and queen.

A family friend told People earlier that Middleton has become more open and relaxed. The Duchess of Cambridge has reportedly found her passion and purpose in helping mothers and children. A well-placed palace source also said that she has finally found her voice.

Royal correspondent Emily Andrews also praised Middleton’s speech when she visited the “Back To Nature” festival in Woking, Surrey. According to Andrews, Middleton was more confident in peaking in public and was in her relaxed element.

Earlier this year, netizens criticized Middleton because she did not improve eight years after joining the royal family. One netizen said that she was disappointed because the Duchess of Cambridge was not at the level she expected her to be and was stuck at year 1.
