Kate Middleton has brought her wardrobe to the next level.

According to Latifa Yedroudj, a journalist for Express, the Duchess of Cambridge has made an "unexpected twist" in her outfits with bolder colors and brighter ensembles after returning from her 6-month maternity leave. Middleton's new ensemble seemed to show that she's stepping out of her comfort zone.

Many noticed this when Middleton stepped out in a checkered off-the-shoulder Erdem dress and paired it with dark suede heels and a matching clutch bag. She wowed her fans when she donned a bright fuchsia pink at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's royal wedding as she has never been seen in that shade before. Again, the royal mom of three surprised everyone when she sported the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II for the first time ever last month.

According to the royal experts, Middleton's "wardrobe change may be a first sign towards an edgier Kate" who is coming back with a bang as she settles into her future role as Queen Consort.

"After that long break, she has certainly come back with a bang," Kaitlin Menza, co-host of the Royally Obsessed podcast told Vanity Fair. "She seems like she's in a more take-charge position. I'm beginning to see the person who's going to be the queen emerging."

"I think this is where Kate gets to make her mark," Susan E. Kelley, editor of the What Kate Wore website wrote.

On the other hand, many believe that Middleton has gained new found confidence after handing over her "princess in training" status to sister-in-law Meghan Markle.

"She has been 'princess in training' for a while now, and now that Meghan has taken over the role, she is really starting to embrace her changing position," Rochelle White told FEMAIL. "She looks relaxed and confident rocking this style of dress, which is very princess-esque, and shows off her silhouette post-baby."

In related news, many also noticed that Middleton has been following Markle's style. The Duchess of Cambridge donned skinny jeans when she accompanied Prince William at Coach Core Essex in Basildon. In addition, she was seen hugging fans. The royals are reportedly only encouraged to shake hands and not embraced the public, but Markle has been giving hugs to her supporters whenever she gets the chance.
