After a year of dealing with a controversial divorce to A-list actor and husband of five years, Tom Cruise, actress Katie Holmes says she is ready to move on.

In the April edition of Allure Magazine, the 34-year-old “Dawson’s Creek” star talks about everything from her rocky year, to a potential career change and even the possibility of expanding her brood.

“A lot of people have gone through a lot of stuff,” said Homes, who admitted that more than just her own personal tragedies have affected her.

"I hope this is a peaceful year for a lot of people in the world. When you look back on the last year, there were a lot of tragedies—Hurricane Sandy, the Connecticut shooting. I just hope it’s a good year for everyone.”

Holmes, who can be seen sporting everything from an Agent Provocateur swimsuit to a gown by Jason Wu, said it’s her daughter with Cruise, 6-year-old Suri, who is the real fashionista of the family.

“She’s got a great eye, she really does,” said Holmes, pointing out that Suri enjoys picking out her own outfits, preferably ones which includes high heels.

As her daughter continues to grow up, Holmes admitted that the future holds a strong possibility of adding more children to her family.

“I don’t know. I’m open to it,” said the actress, who also discussed the possibility of a career change and maybe even law school.

“Well, my brother and father are attorneys and we’ll see,” said Holmes. “I like the practical thinking of attorneys.”

Holmes most recently starred in the Broadway production “Dead Accounts” but was forced to leave the show after only 44 performances. The show closed due to poor ticket sales.

The actress is currently in pre-production for the romantic comedy “Responsible Adults,” in which a man realizes his current crush is his former childhood babysitter. The film also stars “Gossip Girl” actor Chase Crawford.
