  • Clarkson has primary custody over her children with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock

Kelly Clarkson has splurged on a massive playground for her kids at the Los Angeles mansion she purchased last month for $5.5 million.

The New York Post obtained photos of the Toluca Lake property Friday showing the refurbished backyard that now features an assortment of inflatable toys. The snaps also showed a trampoline, bicycles, a slide, swings, a playhouse and many other playthings.

From the looks of things, the first “American Idol” winner, 39, is just ensuring that her kids, River Rose, 7, and Remington Alexander, 5, will have a lot of things to play with while staying with her in her new property. After all, she was awarded by the court with primary custody over her children with 44-year-old ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, as per Page Six.

Amid their divorce battle, Blackstock, who resides in Montana, has only been granted visitation rights. This means he will only get to see his children when he would pay them a visit at Clarkson’s residence. The kids are also allowed to visit their father on certain holidays.

As previously reported, the “Since U Been Gone” hitmaker dropped $5.445 million on the Colonial-style mansion in the Toluca Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. The singer bought the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom property after selling off her Hendersonville, Tennessee, house for $6.3 million.

Clarkson made the big move following the announcement that “The Kelly Clarkson Show” is going to headline NBC’s daytime TV programming once Ellen DeGeneres’ syndicated talk show wraps up for good after its 19th and final season in spring 2022.

“We look forward to Ellen DeGeneres' 19th season paired with Kelly Clarkson for what is sure to be a blockbuster year. By 2022, ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ will be the star of our daytime entertainment schedules and an asset to our early afternoon newscasts,” president of NBCUniversal Local Valari Staab told NBC New York in late June.

Meanwhile, Clarkson requested earlier this month for a judge to terminate her marital status and declare her legally single amid her divorce battle with Blackstock. The singer filed for divorce from Blackstock in June 2020, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
