While the youngest of the Kardashian clan are no strangers to controversy, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner have found themselves in hot water yet again for using the likenesses of famous musicians on t-shirts for their clothing brand, Kendall & Kylie.

The shirts featured images of the Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac and Ozzy Osbourne overlaid with images of the sisters' faces. The Jenner sisters were forced on Thursday to pull the t-shirts and release an apology to fans and families of the performers.

Rolling Stone reported Thursday that the shirts appeared on the Kendall & Kylie online shop Wednesday. In addition to the three aforementioned artists, the t-shirts also reportedly included images of Black Sabbath, Metallica, Pink Floyd, the Doors, Kiss and Led Zeppelin.

Backlash to the t-shirt collection had already been building across social media by the time that the Biggie Smalls' mother, Voletta Wallace, released a statement on Instagram in which she slammed the sisters for appropriating the likeness of her son.

"I am not sure who told @kyliejenner and @kendalljenner that they had the right to do this," Wallace captioned the post. "The disrespect of these girls to not even reach out to me or anyone connected to the estate baffles me. I have no idea why they feel they can exploit the deaths of 2pac and my Son Christopher to sell a t-shirt. This is disrespectful, disgusting, and exploitation at its worst!!!"

According to TMZ Thursday, Julian K. Perry — a lawyer for the rapper’s estate — issued a cease-and-desist letter requesting the shirts be pulled from retail by 5 p.m. Friday. The letter reportedly threatened legal action should the Jenner sisters fail to meet the request.

Sharon Osbourne also took to Twitter to criticize the t-shirts’ use of her husband Ozzy Osbourne's likeness.

"Girls, you haven’t earned the right to put your face with musical icons," Osbourne tweeted Thursday. "Stick to what you know…lip gloss."

Leading up to the Jenner sisters’ announcement that the t-shirts were being pulled from their website, critics took to social media to raise concerns about the line.

The sisters both released a statement on Twitter Thursday evening announcing that the shirts had been pulled from their online shop. With her statement, Kendall Jenner included a purple heart emoji.

“These designs were not well thought out and we deeply apologize to anyone that has been upset and/or offended, especially to the families of the artists,” the statement said. “We are huge fans of their music and it was not our intention to disrespect these cultural icons in anyway [sic]. The tee shirts have been pulled from retail and all images have been removed. We will use this as an opportunity to learn from these mistakes and again, we are very sorry.”
