House of Cards
A lot of people were heartbroken over the inappropriate actions made by Kevin Spacey, including his “House of Cards” co-star, Rachel Brosnahan. Netflix

Kevin Spacey is considered as one of the most respected actors in the Hollywood industry, so when he was accused of sexual assault by several individuals, his contemporaries and those who looked up to him were shocked.

His “House of Cards” co-star, Rachel Brosnahan, even told Metro that she was “dismayed” by the news that sexual harassment took place in their set.

“Disappointed. Dismayed. I’m really grateful for this moment we’re having in Hollywood right now. I’m so grateful for the people coming forward and speaking out, as a young woman in the industry, speaking out and empowering others to speak out,” she said.

Brosnahan played Rachel Posner in the Netflix series’ first three series. She mostly shot scenes with Michael Kelly, who plays Doug Stamper, and never did she share a single scene with Spacey.

It was “Star Trek: Discovery” star Anthony Rapp who first accused Spacey of sexual assault dating back to 1986. After, several crew members of “House of Cards” also came forward and confessed that they were victimized by Spacey’s “predatory” behavior.

A former production assistant told CNN that Spacey sexually assaulted him during one of the show’s early seasons. The employee claimed that Spacey put his hands down his pants without consent while he was driving the actor to the set. Later, Spacey cornered him and touched him inappropriately.

“I told him, ‘I don't think I'm ok with this, I don’t think I’m comfortable with this,’” the production assistant said. That’s when Spacey became “visibly flustered,” fled the trailer, and got in his car.

The others shared their own harrowing experiences, but requested for anonymity out of fear of professional repercussions. One crew member even said that Spacey “would put his hands on me in weird ways,” including massaging his shoulders and touching his stomach.

The others accused Spacey of nonconsensual touching, and they said that the actor was fond of making crude comments towards production staffers who were typically young and male.

Due to the accusations, he was removed from the Netflix series. “House of Cards” Season 6 will move forward with Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) taking the lead.
