  • The TV star attended the awards show with her mom, Kris Jenner
  • Kardashian was named the Reality TV Star of the Year

Khloé Kardashian revealed that she had a wardrobe malfunction at the People's Choice Awards before joining her mom, Kris Jenner, on stage to receive their award.

On Tuesday, the mother-daughter duo attended the annual awards ceremony at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, donning an all-black ensemble. The 67-year-old momager wore a suit with an intricate tulle shoulder detail, while the 38-year-old Good American founder wore a Jean Paul Gaultier sleeveless suit to the occasion, People reported.

However, Jenner had to take the stage by herself to accept the 2022 Reality TV Show Award for her family's show "The Kardashians" because Kardashian arrived late, joking that she was having "some hair troubles."

When the mom-of-two made it to the stage, she apologized to the crowd saying, "I'm so sorry I'm out of breath, I was trying to fix my hair, oh my god, a girl's [got to] fix her hair."

Interestingly, there was another reason why Kardashian didn't immediately join her mother to accept the award, revealing in an Instagram Story later that night that she encountered troubles with her outfit.

"You guys, we just won People's Choice, and I'm so grateful, but, okay," Kardashian began, according to Insider, "My outfit broke. I'm zipped — no, hold on. [In] my outfit, the whole zipper popped open, so I am sewn into my outfit. I had to pee, so we had to cut the stitching out and sew me back in," adding that her hair also caused a "disaster."

She continued, "I'm so sorry I was late to the stage. Thank God for my mom trying to be a buffer."

During the fan-voted awards show, Kardashian was named the Reality TV Star of 2022, a category she has been nominated consecutively for years since it was introduced back in 2018, according to People.

She took to Instagram to express her gratitude for winning the award, along with a series of photos of the reality star flaunting her award show outfit.

"Screaming thank you for 5 years in a row winning the @peopleschoice!! Every year gets more and more special! Truly, thank you! This means so much to me. Also, a major major thank you for voting and having our TV show win as well! What an honor and a blessing!" she wrote in the caption.

Fans in the comments section showered the reality star with praises, calling her "Queen Koko" and congratulated her for the win.

"She's a beauty, an icon! Congratulations Koko!" one user wrote.

Another commented, "You're an amazing woman with a heart of gold. Well deserved. Congratulations!"

Her mom, Jenner, also commented on the post saying, "You are so beautiful inside and out! I love you and I'm so proud of you and all of your siblings!"

Meanwhile, her older sister, Kim Kardashian, jokingly commented on her hair extensions before saying that the award was "well-deserved."
