Lamar Odom's daughter, Destiny Odom, revealed Wednesday that her father's marriage to Khloé Kardashian was a major player in causing further damage to her relationship with her father.

During a feature interview with People/Entertainment Weekly (PEN) titled, "Surviving A Father’s Addiction: Lamar Odom’s Family Speaks Out Destiny," she explained that she "tried" to maintain a healthy relationship with her father throughout his "toxic" marriage to Kardashian. Yet, it wasn't an easy task.

"I tried for my dad. I wouldn't say it was a matter of my dad loving Khloé more than me," Destiny explained. "I think that my dad has an addictive personality, so he was addicted to the attention he got with Khloe more than me. It was a very toxic relationship."

The relationship problems between Destiny and her father didn't remain at home. It eventually followed her to the school yard.

Odom's daughter said classmates would often make "regular snide comments at school." However, things began to worsen as headlines about her father and his substance abuse surfaced.

"When his addiction became public, then it became a social media thing," she said. "Even people that I thought were my friends were saying stuff on social media. It was humiliating."

Odom's addiction problems and the constant cheating were also what led to his eventual divorce from Kardashian.

During a 2016 interview with Howard Stern, Kardashian revealed she wasn't initially aware of the cheating.

"Lamar was so great at making me feel like I was the only one and I was this princess, so I never speculated about his cheating," Kardashian said. "He was so good. Nothing was on his cellphones."

This interview followed two years after the reality star's bold declaration that her "husband was missing with another girl," according to ET Online. The admission was revealed during a 2014 episode of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians."

Leading up to his December 2016 trip to rehab, Odom made an appearance on "The Doctors" to discuss his sobriety. According to Rolling Stone, he was saddened to have hurt Kardashian and his family throughout his addiction period.

"You become so distant. Using drugs, it numbs you to everything. Even your feelings," Odom said during his appearance. "Being at Casa, I learned how to live in the moment. Being – mentally and physically – is important to me, especially when dealing with my children."

Odom's daughter and her brother — Lamar Jr. — had also confronted the former Los Angeles Lakers player about his drug addiction issues through an intervention. Destiny was forced to offer him an "ultimatum."

"[It was] with close family friends," Destiny said about the intervention. "I basically gave him the ultimatum that it was rehab or me not speaking to him anymore."

Destiny, who has admitted that her relationship with her father is in a much better place at this time, is taking a gap year in her schooling. People noted that she desires to study fashion upon her return.
