In his first-ever presidential rally, that was held in Charleston, South Carolina, Sunday, July 19, Kanye West broke down when talking about his wife, Kim Kardashian, as he revealed that she almost had an abortion.

Recalling the moment the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" learned she was expecting their first child, the 43-year-old rapper said, "In the Bible, it says, 'Thou shall not kill.' I remember that my girlfriend called me screaming and crying, and I was just thinking because at that time I was a rapper I was out there, [had] different girlfriends and everything... and she said, 'I'm pregnant.' And I said, 'Yes!' And then I said, 'Uh oh.'"

"She was crying… and for one month and two months and three months, we talked about her not having this child. She had the pills in her hand. You know, these pills you take it and it's a wrap—the baby is gone," the rapper told the audience at the Exquis Event Center.

The couple then had a revelation following which they decided to keep the baby.

"I said, 'We are going to have this child.' I know people who are 50 years old who don't have a child," a tearful West said.

"Even if my wife wants to divorce me after this speech she brought North into the world even when I didn’t want to. She stood up and she protected that child," West said.

The rapper went on to say that his late mother also almost had an abortion when she was pregnant with him.

"You know who else protected a child? 43 years ago, who do you think protected a child? My mom saved my life. My dad wanted to abort me. My mom saved my life, there would have been no Kanye West because my dad was too busy," he said, as he began to sob.

On the Fourth of July, West had announced his decision of running for the President.

"We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision, and building our future. I am running for president of the United States!" he tweeted.
