Kris Jenner recalled the time her ex-husband Bruce Jenner transitioned to Caitlyn Jenner.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" momager spoke with Robin Roberts Wednesday night. During their conversation, they talked about her relationship with Caitlyn after her transition, and she said that they are now amicable.

"We're fine. Yeah, we're friends," Kris was quoted by People as saying. "And I see her when she's at a family thing, so it's, you know, settled down a lot."

Kris and Caitlyn were married for 22 years. They share two daughters Kendall, 26, and Kylie, 24.

The exes announced their separation in October 2013. Two years later, the Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete came out as transgender.

Kris recalled how their family reacted after Caitlyn's transition. She remembered how surprised they were and admitted that she didn't expect to deal with such an issue.

"I think it was a big shock. It's a scary thing to go through because you know nothing about it. It's a subject I never thought that I would ever have to directly deal with [or] confront [or] be understanding about. Something that I didn't you know, understand," she explained.

Caitlyn and Kris went through a period of estrangement after the former's memoir was published. In "The Secrets of My Life," Caitlyn alleged that her ex-wife was aware of her gender-identity crisis. Kris and her daughters confirmed that the book caused a rift, but the family already worked it out and reconciled.

Last year, Kris spoke with WSJ Magazine's The One and reflected on her relationship with Caitlyn. According to her, they were "very respectful" because "she's the father of two of my kids, and so that speaks volumes."

"None of us had been through anything like that before in a million years," Kris said. "And we didn't know how to process that — and it was a process, it was a shock, and then it was a reality, and it was something that we had to absorb and try to wrap our heads around and learn about."

The Kardashian matriarch added that fans and viewers of their reality show did not see Caitlyn's transition coming. Caitlyn opened up about her being transgender in April 2015.

"My brain is much more female than it is male. . . . It's hard for people to understand that, but that's what my soul is," she told Diane Sawyer in an interview for Vanity Fair. In July of the same year, Caitlyn graced the cover of Vanity Fair following her transition to a woman.
