  • Stewart allegedly contracted the coronavirus while filming 'Happiest Season'
  • Stewart has yet to address her co-star's claims

Kristen Stewart contracted the coronavirus while on the set of “Happiest Season” earlier this year, her costar Aubrey Plaza accidentally revealed on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

While sharing details with Colbert about filming “Happiest Season,” Plaza suddenly let the cat out of the hat about Stewart, who plays Abby in the holiday romance-comedy.

“COVID-19 was on our set, Kristen [Stewart] got sick. Well, we didn't know,” Plaza explained, adding that many people working on the movie fell ill in late February.

"It was that zone where people were starting to talk about coronavirus, but people were kind of laughing about it — no one understood how serious it was. I think a bunch of people on our set got sick. I didn't, thank God," added Plaza, who plays Riley in the rom-com. Stewart has yet comment on her co-star’s claim.

The revelation came a few weeks after Stewart talked about the intricacies of playing Princess Diana in the upcoming Pablo Larrain-directed biopic, “Spencer,” which is slated to hit the big screen next year. The “Twilight” star also revealed how she prepared to effectively portray the People’s Princess.

“There are so many perspectives of her and of her story, it's just not a black and white thing and it's a very slippery, really emotionally-packed story for a lot of people, ” Stewart told Entertainment Tonight.

“This is a really kind of poetic, really internalized imagining of maybe the heaviest three days’ time before she does something as gnarly as leaving the royal family. I'm just sort of reading everything that I can and then forgetting it, because it's kind of a really internalized story,” the actress added.

Stewart also recently shared her thoughts on Princess Diana, explaining, “it’s hard not to feel protective of her” despite having been young when the princess passed away. The highly anticipated movie will recount the weekend that worsened the Duke and Princess of Wales’ marriage.
