  • Dean Ambrose left WWE in 2019
  • Angle has insisted that Ambrose needed a change but will return to WWE
  • The Hall of Famer is also an Olympic medalist, having won gold in 1996

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar Kurt Angle has insisted that Dean Ambrose, who left the company last year, will surely return.

Ambrose had a huge part in the storyline since 2012. However, he chose to walk away and not sign a new contract with the WWE Company. He now wrestles in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) under the name Jon Moxley. Angle believes that Ambrose left because he felt he was not appreciated enough and wanted a change.

Even though Ambrose has become a vital part of AEW and is enjoying much more freedom than he had in WWE, Angle expects the former champion to return to the WWE ring one day.

Speaking exclusively to Givemesport, Angle also mentioned that he considers the Shield – Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Ambrose – are future WWE Hall of Famers.

“Oh, they’re great. The Shield is a future Hall of Fame faction. To be part of it [in 2017] was a load of fun,” Angle, who was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017, said.

"I don’t follow AEW, but I get wind of it, Dean wanted a change and an adjustment. Maybe he felt he wanted to work less and felt that he wasn’t being appreciated. He made the decision for himself and if he feels it’s the right decision I’m happy for him but WWE is the biggest company in the world at it will continue to be.

I believe Dean will be back,” the retired wrestler added.

Angle was also a part of a Shield storyline when he was WWE RAW’s general manager a couple of years ago. The Olympic gold medallist wrestler, who is a popular figure in the WWE, has emphasized that he is happy with his new job off-screen as a backstage producer.

"I’ll do what they need me to do but I don’t have any plans of being on-screen anymore. If the company needs me to do it then I will. I’ve been as loyal as I can to Vince McMahon and WWE and if there’s an opportunity I’ll take it. If not, I’m happy where I am,” Angle added.
