Lamar Odom hopes to reconcile with his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian, but not everyone is optimistic about his chances.

Odom has been candid about his relationship with the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" alum throughout his stay at the "Celebrity Big Brother" house. But Jerry O'Connell suggested that the former NBA star may not succeed in wooing Kardashian again.

"I think he has a better chance at winning 'Big Brother' than [reconciling with Khloé], according to social media," O'Connell jokingly said when he appeared on Friday's "CBB" episode, according to Us Weekly. "I would like to see Lamar win it, but that is a real long shot at this point."

O'Connell, a self-proclaimed fan of the reality show, weighed in on Odom's time in the "Big Brother" house while speaking to host Julie Chen Moonves.

"I'm a little worried about him [being on the block] tonight," O'Connell admitted about Odom after Moonves noted that he has yet to win a single competition. "I love Lammy, I just got to say I love Lammy."

O'Connell said he was rooting for Odom as the former basketball player described himself as "someone who has regrets" on the show.

"I'm really pulling for him in this house. I think it would be great for him if he won this whole thing, it would really propel him into a new stage," the actor added.

Throughout Odom's stint on "Celebrity Big Brother," which began airing earlier this month, he's been vocal about his past relationship with Kardashian and his desire to reconnect with her, nearly six years after their divorce was finalized.

During a recent conversation with his castmates, Odom admitted that he wished he had been "mature enough" when he and Kardashian were together. However, he insisted that if he were given a second chance with the reality star now, he would "know what to do and what not to do."

Co-star Cynthia Bailey encouraged him to contact Kardashian, and Odom said he was going to do his best to reconnect with his ex after he leaves the "Big Brother" house.

"I would probably just want to take her to dinner," Odom said in a confessional of a potential date with Kardashian. "It would be a blessing just to be in her presence to just tell her I'm sorry and what a fool I was. She has the right to never see me again for the things I put her through, but time moves on and people change. I would say I'm a lot more loyal now."

Shanna Moakler, who got close with Odom inside the house before she was evicted from "CBB" last week, found his comments about Kardashian "sweet." According to the model, the former NBA player "still cares very deeply" for his ex.

Odom and Kardashian were married for four years between 2009 and 2013 before she filed for divorce. It was finalized in December 2016.
